Jack Lain for School Board

Jakob (Jack) Lain for School Board

Santa Fe Public Schools, District 5

Vote for Experience!

As a proud parent, teacher, principal and advocate for students in Santa Fe Public Schools, I would be honored to serve you on the School Board.  As your School Board representative, I hope to make sure our funds for education are spent equitably and efficiently to ensure that all students receive the support for academic and social-emotional growth that they require and deserve.  Having worked as a teacher and principal for 19 years in Santa Fe Public Schools, I have been in the classrooms and understand the challenges and achievements of our schools.  As a parent who has sat side-by-side other parents at school events and PTA, I have heard and shared concerns.  We all want what is best for our children.  In my various roles,  I have always put our students first  – and I truly want what is best for them. I would be honored to be entrusted by you to serve as your next school board representative

Jack Lain, principal of El Camino, marching in Pet Parade with son José.

Issues important to me:

  • Student achievement… continue academic growth in reading and math.
  • Social-emotional support… think about the whole child.
  • Equity and Diversity… make sure each dollar is spent to support each and every child.
  • Enrichment… provide electives in music, art, athletics, and STEAM at each school.
  • Community Schools… offer quality after-school and summer programs.
  • Teachers… make our schools places where teachers feel valued and supported.
  • Parents… listen to them, they know what is best for their children.

As the School Board member of District 5, I would be directly representing the Nye Early Childhood Center, Kearny, Nava, Piñon, and Salazar Elementary Schools, Milagro Middle School, and Santa Fe High School.  I have worked at many of these schools; I understand issues important to their communities.

If you do not know what District you are in, go to https://www.sfps.info/o/sfps/page/board-of-education-2.  Next to the names of each school board representative, there is a map listed by their name for you to better identify the District you live in.

Though most of you know me as Jack Lain, my formal name on the ballot is Jakob Lain – a vote for Jakob is a vote for Jack!
